Most consumers like to know the history of a used car that they are considering to purchase to help them make an informed decision.  This is obviously nothing new and is also very common when buying other higher priced
pre owned items, like a home. 

When people are in the market for a used vehicle one of the main things that they are concerned with is making sure they get a fair transaction price.  Sometimes this becomes very confusing because, unlike new vehicles, it's difficult to compare several used vehicles.  Almost like an "apples" to "oranges" type scenario.
