Toyota’s total vehicle production in North America since 1986 has reached nearly 32 million. Key drivers of this year’s production include low fuel prices, continued stability in the overall economy and strong customer demand for trucks and SUVs.

“Every part and every vehicle…

When long-time team members Sandra and Andres Chaparro saw the first vehicle roll off the line in 1998, they felt a sense of pride and accomplishment knowing they’d had a hand building it. Little did they know; their hands would be busy building 4,999,999 more vehicles over the next 20 years.

“It’s really seems like yesterday we opened the plant and started our journey with Toyota,” the Chaparros said. “After 20…

It was reported this week that Toyota would be revamping their Infotainment system for the 2018 Camry, which is due to be announced later this year. This new infotainment system should be available for their entire fleet of vehicles starting with the 2018 model year, although that is not yet confirmed. Toyota's car of the future drives like a Camry

The Toyota Mirai looks like it's ready to swallow you whole. From the front, the hydrogen fuel-cell car has the aggressive stance of a bulldog. But as you circle the vehicle, the styling quickly softens to clean lines that lead to a rear end that would blend in among a sea of cars trapped in traffic. It's the future of driving (one version of it, anyway), but as I found after a recent…

That’s a far cry from the 100- to 200-mile range that full-electric car manufacturers such as Tesla and Nissan promise, but Toyota’s moving in the right direction and is betting consumers still want a hybrid experience…

Mazda-based iA sold as Scion, will switch to Toyota

In more than 15 years of writing about cars, I’ve never had a twist as strange as this week’s test drive.

Here I am, evaluating a car that doesn’t exist from a brand that’s about to disappear.

The car that doesn’t exist is the Mazda2 sedan, which isn’t available in America despite being a spectacularly fun and solid vehicle for a bargain price in other parts of the globe…
