The Toyota Technical Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan has announced that they will go ahead with plans to build an extension onto their current facility at a cost of up to $32.5 million. Toyota officials have stated that the expansion is part of an ongoing effort to consolidate their North American operations.

The 2015 Toyota Prius C subcompact hybrid hatchback earned the Top Safety Pick award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety following structural improvements to the front end and occupant compartment.

The car's side curtain airbags were also lengthened.

The rating applies to 2015 Prius C models built after May.
