The Toyota Camry is practically ubiquitous with the concept of a mainstream midsize sedan. While that has vaulted it to the top of the sales charts, many point to its 2015 refresh as when it became not just a bread or flour staple of families, but a fun-to-drive model. But Toyota isn’t stopping there. At the Detroit Auto Show this year, they gave us our first look at the 2018 model.

Toyota announced today that it has achieved more than 10 million cumulative units of hybrid vehicle (HV) sales, including plug-in hybrids, as of January 31. The latest milestone was achieved just nine months after total sales reached 9 million units at the end of April 2016.

Toyota Motor North America also saw its sales of hybrids and plug-in hybrids reach a cumulative total, exceeding three million units as of December 31, 2016.

Toyota Motor North America (TMNA), Inc., today reported its U.S. January 2017 sales of 143,048 vehicles, a decrease of 11.3 percent from January 2016 on a volume basis. With the same number of selling days in January 2017 compared to January 2016, sales were down 11.3 percent on a daily selling rate (DSR) basis.

Toyota Indiana knows how to ring in the New Year!  The company will add 400 jobs at the plant in Princeton, investing $600 million to meet the strong and growing demand for the Highlander midsize SUV and modernize the entire plant.  The investment will be used for retooling, new equipment and advanced technologies to make the plant more competitive.  The project is scheduled to begin in fall 2019 and will add 40,000 Highlanders annually…

Partners with United Way of Metropolitan Dallas to Establish Program Requiring Collaboration among Non-Profits and Organizations to Achieve Greater Impact

To help address mobility challenges in North Texas, Toyota announced a $1 million impact grant in partnership with United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, available for local non-profits, academic institutions and social entrepreneurs.   

In 2016, Toyota achieved another record year of North American vehicle production with 2,124,608 vehicles built at its North American vehicle assembly plants. Production volume was up 4.4 percent over the previous year total of 2,035,028 vehicles.
