If you get your car washed, be sure to also get the wax. The elements that your car is subjected to are pretty rough on your paint job but a coating of wax can help to protect it. Even UV rays are damaging to the paint on your car.
Be sure to also keep your car clean. A good habit to have is to get your vehicle washed every two weeks to make sure that dirt and grime don't have the chance to build up. If you like to wash your car by hand, make sure that you use a special car cleaner. If you use a household dish soap, it can be too abrasive and can actually damage the finish on your car.
Be sure to also use a micro-fiber rag when you are applying your wax coating so you get good coverage. It's worth the effort and time.
