America's Best-Selling Car Still Most 'American-Made'


The best-selling car in America for 14 consecutive years is on another streak that recognizes its American symbolism: another award from Cars.com for most American-made. For the second year in a row and sixth time overall, the Toyota Camry claims the top position on Cars.com’s American-Made Index.

Toyota Headquarters Will Use 100% Renewable Energy


Toyota says it will use 100 percent renewable energy at is new North American headquarters in Plano, Texas.

Earlier this week the automaker announced that the $1 billion campus, slated to open in May 2017, will include a 7.7-megawatt solar array that will provide a quarter of its power needs.

Toyota is seeking LEED Platinum certification — the US Green Building Council’s highest level — of the new campus.

Toyota Reports May 2016 Sales, Sees SUV Surge

Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc., today reported May 2016 sales of 219,339 units, a decrease of 9.6 percent from May 2015 on a volume basis. With two fewer selling days in May 2016 compared to May 2015, sales were down 2.0 percent on a daily selling rate (DSR) basis.

Toyota Interested In Google Robotics Businesses


Toyota is reportedly considering a purchase of two Google robotics subsidiaries, including the high-profile Boston Dynamics.

The automaker's research arm was long considered a potential landing spot for Boston Dynamics after Google parent Alphabet began shopping it earlier this year. Reuters, citing a report in the Japanese language The Nikkei, said that Toyota was currently in talks with Alphabet officials.

Toyota tallies 9 millionth hybrid sale

Total sales of Toyota hybrid vehicles have topped 9 million units, the Japanese automaker announced on Friday.

Toyota teams with Microsoft on connected-car venture


Toyota Motor Corp. is collaborating with Microsoft Corp. to consolidate much of the carmaker’s global research in telematics, data analytics and network security services as the auto industry expands connected-vehicle technologies.
