It's been almost two decades since Toyota first introduced the Prius and sparked an entire hybrid vehicle movement. They show no signs of slowing down, and Marion drivers serve to benefit. The 2017 Toyota Prius has been named the Eco-Friendly Car of the Year by Cars.com. Eco-friendly driving meets practicality in this award winning hybrid sedan.

Microsoft will license a good deal of its connected car patents to Toyota, Automotive News reports. Toyota will have access to a number of intellectual properties covering operating systems, voice recognition, artificial intelligence and gesture control. It has not been disclosed how much money Toyota paid for this access.

Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) walked away with seven out of 18 segment awards from the 2017 J.D. Power U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS). It also came in third overall and placed highest among non-premium brands.

But it was the Toyota Camry that stole the show and took home the gold. It earned the title of the Most Dependable Vehicle Overall and reported the lowest average number of problems per 100 cars (PP100) looked at by the study.

The Lexus brand has captured the highest ranking in vehicle dependability among all nameplates for a sixth consecutive year in the 2017 J.D.
