Toyota Camry Tops in J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study

Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) walked away with seven out of 18 segment awards from the 2017 J.D. Power U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS). It also came in third overall and placed highest among non-premium brands.

But it was the Toyota Camry that stole the show and took home the gold. It earned the title of the Most Dependable Vehicle Overall and reported the lowest average number of problems per 100 cars (PP100) looked at by the study.

Toyota North America Reports February 2017 Sales


Toyota Motor North America (TMNA), Inc., today reported its US February 2017 sales of 174,339 vehicles, a decrease of 7.2 percent from February 2016 on a volume basis. With the same number of selling days in February 2017 compared to February 2016, sales were down 7.2 percent on a daily selling rate (DSR) basis.

The Toyota Brand Ranks Highest Among Non-Premium Brands and was Ranked Third Overall


The Lexus brand has captured the highest ranking in vehicle dependability among all nameplates for a sixth consecutive year in the 2017 J.D. Toyota Global Hybrid Sales Surpass 10 Million



Toyota announced today that it has achieved more than 10 million cumulative units of hybrid vehicle (HV) sales, including plug-in hybrids, as of January 31. The latest milestone was achieved just nine months after total sales reached 9 million units at the end of April 2016.

Toyota Motor North America also saw its sales of hybrids and plug-in hybrids reach a cumulative total, exceeding three million units as of December 31, 2016.

Toyota Announced A $600 Million Investment In The U.S.

Toyota Motors announced a $600 million investment in its manufacturing plant in Princeton, Indiana. The investment will be directed towards the expansion in production capacity of the plant and the retooling of the factory for the production of the next generation of its midsize SUV Highlander. Toyota Motor North America (TMNA), Inc., today reported its U.S. January 2017 sales of 143,048 vehicles, a decrease of 11.3 percent from January 2016 on a volume basis.
