Every year, there are a small number of MDT and Master level technicians, 'Toyota Advocates', who devote a considerable amount of time and effort into producing superior grade Dealer Product Reports (DRP's) on a regular basis. The Toyota Quality Champions program is designed to recognize these efforts, and encourage submission of DRP's from technicians who have the proven ability and willingness to provide this valuable information back to Toyota.
Marion Toyota Master Technician, Doug Janz, was recently named one of the Toyota Quality Champions for Chicago Region Toyota. Each Champion receives a recognition certificate and embroidered jacket. Winners are also invited to a special recognition event in November.
In addition, each Region is allowed an Overall Quality Champion to represent them at the National Toyota Quality Champion Conference. Doug Janz was also named to receive this honor. This year the event will be at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana (TMMI) May 2nd - May 4th. These overall champions are selected based on the volume and quality of DRP's for the 2016 calendar year.
Doug will have the opportunity to meet with Toyota Motor Sales management , Plant Quality Engineers, TEMA CQE personnel, and others to provide person to person input regarding their real-world experience on current product issues and concerns. Toyota considers the information they receive from their dealers and technicians via the Dealer Product Reports invaluable. This is their way of saying thank you to people like Doug for his efforts and to take care of customers by keeping Toyota informed.
