Your vehicle has an internal combustion engine and it requires the proper fuel and air mixture ratio to run correctly. This air needs to be properly cleaned before it enters the engine to mix with the fuel. If dirty air mixes with the fuel then the debris accumulate and can cause the poor engine performance. Poor engine performance means loss of horsepower and fuel economy.
The long term effect of dirt and dust entering the engine can even be much more costly. These particles rub and cause friction on metal inside the motor causing them unnecessary wear and tear that could eventually lead to major engine problems.
