Toyota, Lexus, Buick and Cadillac captured the top four spots in J.D. Power and Associates' annual vehicle dependability study. The study is one of the most watched rankings because it indicates the answers and complaints from three year old vehicle owners. The report tabulates problems reported in surveys during the last 12 months. The industry average is 147 problems reported for every 100 vehicles. Toyota's score came in at 111 reported problems, Lexus at an industry leading 89, and Scion at an above industry average of 121.
Toyota, along with General Motors, each received seven of the nineteen "best in segment" awards from J.D. Power. Ford's luxury brand Lincoln ranked 7th with 118 problems per 100 but the Ford brand slipped to 25th from 17th position in 2014 with 188 problems reported. Of Fiat Chrysler's brands, Ram ranked the highest at 14th place...up from 25th in 2014. Chrysler was 23rd, Dodge 27th, Jeep 29th and Fiat was 31st.
