Today, residents of Tokyo will get a chance to drive Toyota's three-wheeled electric car/motorbike.  It's part of a trial aimed at creating a global business model that will reduce gridlock and pollution.

Toyota will partner with Park24, a Japanese car sharing service, for a six month experimental trial.  Park24 is leasing the i-Road concept vehicle from Toyota.  Their goal is to set up a green car sharing business similar to Daimler AG's car2go service.  Toyota's i-Road has two front wheels that move up and down independently of each other, allowing it to lean to one side much like a motorcycle while at the same time retaining the stability of a car.  Toyota has not yet announced any plans to mass produce the i-Road.  "Our concept was to offer something that's both fun and convenient for city driving," i-Road chief engineer Akihiro Yanaka says.
