The all-new 2017 Prius Prime is coming to a showroom near you this fall 2016. Fortunately, you don't have to wait until then to get a little preview at what's to come.
The latest-generation Toyota plug-in hybrid equips the same revised powertrain as the standard Prius, but adds an 8.8 kWh lithium-ion battery for a longer EV range. Regenerative braving gives small changes to the EV battery on-the-go, but if it does run out the Prius Prime will shift back into hybrid mode. This way, you don't have to worry about a flat battery coming between you and your destination. So, how much range is possible in the Prius Prime? Toyota assumes a total range of 600 miles when operated with a full tank and a fully charged battery.
When it comes to key features, the Prius Prime features an 11.6-inch touchscreen, standard navigation, available advanced safety technologies, built-in parking valet, and a four-seat layout.
As soon as the Prius Prime arrives, you will be the first to know!
