Toyota announced this week that Best Buy’s support team, otherwise known as the Geek Squad, will now drive the Toyota Prius c to appointments instead of the VW Beetle.
Yesterday, Best Buy started dispatching more than 1,000 new Toyota Prius c vehicles to customers around the United States. Toyota said the retailer selected its cars since they have enough space to “shuttle just about anything an agent might need – whether optimizing a home theater system or improving Wi-Fi performance or installing a security solution.”
The car’s 53 mpg fuel efficiency will also help Best Buy save on fuel costs, which add up. Toyota said Best Buy’s Geek Squad cars cover “more than 5 million house calls a year” and drive more than 12.6 million miles.
