October turned out to be quite the month for Toyota. The automaker reported sales of more than 200,000 units, representing an increase of 13 percent. October 2015 had one more selling day than October 2014, causing daily selling rate (DSR) increase if nine percent.
“October was a huge month for the industry, smashing expectations and continuing its hot streak,” said Bill Fay, group vice president and general manager for the Toyota Division. “Toyota Division posted best-ever sales for the month led by October record-breaking sales of Highlander and RAV4.”
Toyota had many other highlights this past month as well. The hydrogen fuel cell vehicle, Mirai, went on sale, and many models saw significant increases in sales. Corolla and Camry sales rose 12 and five percent, respectively, and Prius saw an increase of 12.5 percent. The Highlander saw a ten-percent increase, giving it a best-ever October. Tacoma sales rose 17 percent, and the RAV4 saw a best-ever October increase of 31.3 Percent.
