Just months after Toyota Motor Corp. announced that its new hydrogen-fuel cell vehicle ,the Mirai, will go on sale to the public in the fall of 2015; it now said that it won’t enforce more than 5,600 patents it has on the patents to the technology behind it.
The company is hoping by sharing the technology that it will broaden industry interest in fuel cell vehicles.
