Finally! The 2016 Toyota Tacoma was unveiled on Monday at the Detroit Auto Show, after much anticipation and speculation. The Tacoma made up 70% of all small-truck sales in 2013 and has dominated the segment for the last decade.
"It's going to be everything the current one is, but we're going to raise the bar and make it better," Bill Fay, group vice president and general manager told reporters. He went on to say that Toyota is not worried about the increased competition in the mid-sized segment. "I don't think we're looking over our shoulder," Fay said. "We've dominated that segment for a long time and we have a loyal customer base. I think by having some more entries in that segment, we'll create more interest, and that's a win-win."
