Toyota vehicles captured some very impressive year-end awards for vehicle safety. 5 Toyota vehicles earned either 4-star or 5-star safety ratings from the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA). Sienna and Camry were both named 5-star picks while the Rav4, Tacoma and Tundra were named 4-star picks. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) also handed out their "Top Safety Pick +" awards and on that list were 5 Toyota models and 3 Lexus models...more than any other automaker. Toyota vehicles rated "Top Safety Pick +" were Prius, Prius V, Camry, Highlander and Sienna.
