Perhaps it isn't quite up there with high school, college, or pro football, but Texans are known for their all-out love of pickups. So when it came to setting up an American facility to build the Toyota Tacoma and Tundra in, the brass looked no further than the Lone Star State.

Now, with a full decade under their big ol' belt buckles, Toyota Texas is celebrating their ten years of production in fitting fashion; they're donating 10 pickups to deserving organizations in their community. While it is a local giveaway it does correspond nicely with Toyota's "100 Cars for Good" campaign which is a cross-country effort to give away 100 vehicles to nonprofit organizations.

Of course Texas is a good distance away from our Marion, IL Toyota Dealership, but even still, quite a few of the pickups they've been turning out down there have made their way to every end of the country, including our Marion Toyota showroom. So, in a way, it's a celebration for all Toyota pickup drivers, regardless of which state you call home. Plus, pitching in to help their local Meals on Wheels, fire department, and school district is a gesture by Toyota Texas that we can all get behind.

For more information on Toyota's charitable efforts, keep an eye on our blog. To get a look at a couple of Texas-made pickup trucks, then just head on over to our new Toyota showroom. Our sales team can go over all of the features that interest you and, best of all, we'd be happy to arrange a test drive at your convenience.
