It took Denny Hamlin the last race of the season to get his first win this year but the wait was worth it. He has now won a NASCAR Sprint Cup Race in each of his 8 full time seasons driving for Joe Gibbs Racing.

Hamlin, who pilots the #11 Fed Ex Toyota Camry finished just ahead of teammate Matt Kenseth who drives the #20 Camry. But it was Jimmy Johnson, finishing ninth, who stole the show by winning his 6th NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship – making him one of the most dominant competitors in sports history.
