The latest-breaking news to grab the attention of our Marion Toyota staff involves a fleet of new Yaris models.
For the first time in Toyota's history, the Japanese automaker will assemble vehicles in Europe to be shipped to the US. The lineup will be built at Toyota's Valenciennes, France plant, where they'll be in very capable hands. The manufacturer, which lies about halfway between Paris and Brussels in Belgium, has been crafting Yaris models since 2001. Currently the plant is responsible for assembling European market Yaris Hybrids. They'll simply add a US-bound, gas model into the mix.
As a matter of fact, they'll be upping the workflow in a big way as Toyota is looking to export 25,000 new Yaris vehicles to America. They'll be pretty easy to spot when they get here, too. They won't be sold with wine or cheese, but the French-built models will all feature VINs that begin with the letter "V". The Japanese-made models currently sport a "J" at the beginning of all of their VINs.
Beyond that, you're looking at the same versatile, fuel-efficient Yaris that drivers in the Marion area have come to know and love. Stop by our dealership at 3300 W Deyoung Marion, IL 62959 and maybe we can get you out on the road in a Yaris today.
Of course, we don't always sell European-made models here at our new Toyota dealership, but when we do, we prefer them to be from France.
