Japanese automaker Toyota has built quite a reputation for itself as an eco-friendly brand, and the company's dedication to producing "green" vehicles continues to grow. The following is a list of some of the projects Toyota has been working on:
Toyota Hybrid Racers:
- Toyota re-entered motor sports recently with two hybrid race cars. This week, the two racers made their debut at the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans event in France. At the race, the company's Vice President announced that more hybrid racers would be produced in the future.Expanded Production, More Hydrogen Fuel Cells:
- Toyota is also working on combining hydrogen fuel cells with lithium-ion batteries to provide a cost-efficient solution for the next generation of eco-friendly drivers. The auto company has also promised to undergo more mass production of hydrogen vehicles during the next several years.Toyota FCV-R:
- This hydrogen-powered vehicle is scheduled to debut in 2015, but its name could change in the future. So far, the concept has been at several auto shows around the world. It gets its power from one hydrogen fuel cell that's uniquely-designed by Toyota. We could see the FCV-R in select markets by 2013, but it will likely take some time to expand worldwide.Check back often here with Marion Toyota, conveniently located at 3300 W Deyoung Marion, IL 62959, for more information about new Toyota hybrid models as they become available.
