FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) — Toyota is taking the next step in its quest for carbon-free travel with the launch of the Mirai hydrogen-fueled sedan.

Fuel for the 2016 Toyota Mirai is in your drinking water. We're not talking about a disastrous fuel spill-- this hydrogen fuel cell vehicle's fuel comes from the water!

The name gives it all away. Hydrogen. Hydro. Gen. Hydro is from the Greek root for water, and Gen is from the Greek root for creator. So hydrogen means "water-creator."

Toyota Prius C Earns Top Safety Pick Award


The 2015 Toyota Prius C subcompact hybrid hatchback earned the Top Safety Pick award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety following structural improvements to the front end and occupant compartment.

The car's side curtain airbags were also lengthened.

The rating applies to 2015 Prius C models built after May.

The head of Toyota Motor's Kentucky plant predicted Thursday that hydrogen fuel cell technology will revolutionize the automotive industr, and that new vehicles like the Mirai may be manufactured someday in Kentucky.
