Service & Express Lube Technicians

Experienced automotive technicians are always in high demand. There's currently a nationwide shortage as these positions are needed in every dealership and auto repair shop throughout the country. Becoming an automotive service technician can be a profitable and fulfilling career choice.

At Marion Toyota, we're looking for the right people, regardless of prior experience and education, to train and invest in. The ideal people to fill these positions are:

  • Mechanically inclined with a technical aptitude
  • Problem solvers who can work without constant supervision
  • Patient and can give attention to detail
  • Hardworking and can adapt to new ideas and technology
  • Creative and curious people who can work as a team

Service Advisors

Service advisors interact with our customers more often than anyone else in the dealership. Having the ability to understand automotive technology and repair concepts is important to their success. But the most successful service advisors, are the ones who can manage the communication between technicians and customers the best. Prior experience is not nearly as important as the ability to do the following:

  • Interact with people in a friendly manner, including co-workers
  • Communicate effectively through several different channels
  • Correctly interpret customer requests and tech recommendations
  • Accurately make notes and calculations
  • Think on their feet in a fast paced environment

Parts Advisors

Parts advisors allow service advisors and technicians to function every day at a high level. They also provide excellent customer service and technical expertise to our sales team as well as outside individuals or companies that order parts from Marion Toyota.

Successful parts advisors are able to:

  • Understand technical concepts and can calculate estimates
  • Monitor work flow for multiple team members
  • Keep track of inventory
  • Communicate effectively with both customers and team members
  • Keep accurate records in a fast paced environment

Auto Detail Technicians

Beginning their professional career as a detail technician is how many of our team members got their start at Marion Toyota. It allowed them to demonstrate their work ethic while developing the right skills to better themselves and other departments. Most future jobs want experienced people. You can begin to gain that experience as an auto detail technician if you:

  • Are dependable and willing to work hard
  • Have long term goals but limited experience and/or education
  • Enjoy working as part of a large team
  • Are willing to be trained, grow and learn new things
  • Like working with your hands and technical tools

Rental Car Associates

Helping our customers with their alternative transportation needs has turned Toyota Rent a Car into one of our fastest growing departments.  Rental car customers need vehicles for business, pleasure or sometimes while their vehicle is being repaired after an accident.  People in our rental team have:
  • Excellent personal, phone and text communication skills
  • An eye for details and keep accurate records
  • Discretion dealing with personal information
  • Tremendous judgment and diplomacy skills
  • A willingness to be on their feet and actively assist customers

Porters, Communications & Support Staff

Helping each department handle the daily needs of our customers and our fellow team members requires additional support staff who can jump in and make everyone's job or circumstances easier to deal with. Our support staff positions are busy every day:
  • Greeting customers and directing them to the proper places
  • Driving our customer shuttle to drop off and pick up customers
  • Performing porter duties for Service Advisors and Technicians
  • Keeping the customer lounge neat, tidy and supplied
  • Scheduling service appointments
